is the brand of GreenBrook Electrical specifically for products associated with DIY outdoor electrical installations. Armadillo is an extension of the PowerBreaker ethos of electrical safety and the objective is to provide products that can be easily installed to the high safety standards of the IEE Wiring Regulations.
The basic philosophy of Armadillo is –
1. To communicate an understanding of the relevant aspects of the wiring regulations.
2. To provide armoured cable assemblies with the difficult aspects of the installation work already completed (such as the termination of the brass glands),
3. To provide clear pictorial step by step installation instructions.
4. To provide high quality ancillary components.
It is also the philosophy of Armadillo to encourage the use of a qualified professional electrician if you are in any doubt – or at least to test your final installation. A qualified electrician will be registered with the NICEIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting) – you can find a local registered electrician through the website http://www.niceic.org.uk

The IEE Wiring Regulations are like the Building Regulations, they are a 300 page document (British Standard BS7671) which defines the way in which all electrical installation work must be carried out. It does not matter whether the work is carried out by a professional electrician or an unqualified DIY enthusiast, the installation must comply with the wiring regulations.

THE SAFE WAY TO INSTALL ELECTRICITY OUTDOORS
The Armadillo Outdoor Power Systems are set lengths of pre-wired armoured cable. All the difficult tasks associated with armoured cable have already been carried out.

On one end of the armoured cable are two weatherproof switches. These are fixed at a convenient point such as close to the back door. At the other end of the cable is a junction box to which the electrical items are connected. For example these could be a pond pump and garden light. They can be independently switched on and off with the two switches. The SCU is available in four cable lengths 5m, 10m, 15m and 20 metres.

The ECU is used to extend SCU’s or to branch off in different directions in the garden. The ECU is available in three different cable lengths 5m, 10m and 20 metres.

The TSC is used where only 13A sockets are required in the garden. TSC cables are available in two lengths 5m and 10 metres.
The method of connecting mains power to all of the Armadillo Outdoor Power Systems is through the simple use of a PowerBreaker RCD plug.
